KOFORIDUA, E/R. — The Eastern Regional Communications Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has challenged the party’s New Abirem Constituency Youth Organiser, Frank Owusu Amoah, to provide evidence to substantiate his allegation that party members are being charged GH¢35,000 to secure recruitment into the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The bureau has condemned the allegation, describing it as damaging to the party’s image and reputation.
Addressing a press conference in Koforidua, a member of the Eastern Regional Communications Team, Alhaji Abdul-Wahab Amadu, strongly disputed the claims and called on Mr Owusu Amoah to provide evidence to support his assertions.
He argued that such allegations could undermine public confidence in the party, particularly as the NDC continues to defend its record in government.
Alhaji Amadu further questioned the motivation behind the allegations, noting that Mr Owusu Amoah was aspiring to become the party’s New Abirem Constituency Chairman despite making claims against the party.

He called on the regional and national executives of the NDC to take disciplinary action against the constituency youth organiser if he fails to substantiate his claims.
The regional communications team also criticised Mr Owusu Amoah’s remarks concerning the performance of the NDC government, arguing that party members should acknowledge the government’s achievements rather than make statements that could undermine its image.
Alhaji Amadu cautioned against what he described as outdated political tactics aimed at winning sympathy and support from delegates ahead of the constituency-level elections.
The bureau subsequently called on the party’s regional and national leadership to consider disqualifying Mr Owusu Amoah from the constituency chairman contest if he fails to provide evidence for his allegations.
Meanwhile, efforts to obtain a direct response from Frank Owusu Amoah were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
However, a statement he made while addressing delegates of the New Abirem Constituency contained the original allegation regarding the alleged GH¢35,000 recruitment fee.
The circumstances surrounding the allegation and the response from the Eastern Regional Communications Bureau remain matters of interest as the party prepares for its constituency-level elections.
