EASTERN REGIONAL NPP SECRETARY URGES PARTY MEMBERS TO UNITE AND WORK HARD FOR 2028 VICTORY

ABURI, E/R- The Eastern Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Tony Osei Adjei, has called on party members and sympathisers to unite, work hard, and strengthen the party’s grassroots base ahead of the 2028 general elections.

He expressed confidence that the NPP could return to power, arguing that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) had failed to meet the expectations of Ghanaians and would consequently face defeat in the next general elections.

Tony Osei Adjei made the call during a mammoth unity walk held at Aburi in the Akuapem South Constituency of the Eastern Region, as part of efforts to revitalise the party’s grassroots support and rebuild its structures following its electoral defeat in the constituency.

He explained that unity and reconciliation among party members were essential to the NPP’s reorganisation efforts, particularly as the party seeks to recapture the Akuapem South parliamentary seat in 2028.

According to him, the current government’s performance and its failure to fulfil several campaign promises present an opportunity for the NPP to regain the confidence of voters.

He therefore urged members and sympathisers to put aside their differences, remain committed to the party, and intensify their efforts towards securing victory in the next general elections.

The Akuapem South Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Michael Ahwereng, also stressed the need for unity, describing it as a critical factor in the party’s quest to reclaim the parliamentary seat.

He disclosed that the constituency leadership intended to reach out to aggrieved members to address their concerns and bring them back into the party’s fold.

He said the initiative formed part of broader efforts to strengthen the party’s internal cohesion and improve its chances of winning back the seat in 2028.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Regional Second Vice Chairman of the NPP, Frank Appiah, popularly known as Oil Money, expressed satisfaction with the turnout at the unity walk, describing it as encouraging and a positive sign of renewed commitment among party members.

He expressed optimism about the party’s prospects of recapturing the Akuapem South seat, while criticising the performance of the governing NDC.

Frank Appiah further revealed that the regional leadership was working behind the scenes to address the concerns of aggrieved members, whose dissatisfaction, he said, contributed to voter apathy and affected the party’s electoral fortunes.

He maintained that resolving internal grievances and strengthening unity at the grassroots level would be crucial to the NPP’s preparations for the 2028 general elections.

The unity walk forms part of the NPP’s efforts to rebuild its grassroots structures, reconcile aggrieved members, and position itself for a stronger electoral performance.
