KOFORIDUA, E/R. — Eastern Regional Secretaries and their deputies of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have declared their support for incumbent General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK), urging delegates to retain him as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
At a press conference in Koforidua, Deputy Eastern Regional Secretary Lawyer Osafo-Marfo said their decision to support Justin Frimpong Kodua was based on what they described as his experience, performance, accessibility, grassroots engagement, competence and humility.

According to him, the strategic needs of the NPP ahead of the 2028 elections also informed their position.
He argued that the position of General Secretary requires more than ambition, stressing the need for experience, institutional knowledge, administrative competence and a strong understanding of the party’s structures.

Lawyer Osafo-Marfo further described Justin Frimpong Kodua as a leader who listens and remains accessible to party members across different levels.
He therefore appealed to delegates and the wider NPP fraternity to support the incumbent General Secretary for another term, saying the party requires an experienced administrator to help steer its organisational affairs as it prepares for the next electoral cycle.
