AKYEM OSIEM, E/R- The Municipal Director of Education for Abuakwa North has encouraged pupils across the municipality to remain committed to their studies and strive for academic excellence, emphasizing that education is the foundation for a brighter future.
Speaking at Osiem in the Eastern Region during a maiden awards ceremony organized by the ECOMOG Unity Association in collaboration with the Abuakwa North Education Directorate honour hard hard working pupils in the area, the Municipal Director urged pupils focus on their studies to improve their academic performance and cultivate discipline, respect for their teachers and parents.
The Director noted that while government and stakeholders continue to invest in education, pupils also have a responsibility to take their studies seriously and make good use of the opportunities available to them.
Addressing teachers, the Municipal Director acknowledged their dedication and sacrifices in shaping the lives of learners. The Director assured them of the Education Directorate’s commitment to supporting their professional development and creating a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
The Director also called on parents to play an active role in their children’s education by monitoring their academic progress, provide them with the necessary learning materials and support at home.
The President of the Association, Bernard Atta Boateng said the purpose of the awards event for the pupils was to help improve education in the Municipality by encouraging the pupils to study hard.
He stated that over 200 pupils in the Osiem zone were rewarded with educational materials such as exercise books, mathematical sets, pens and many more.
He however urged parents to monitor the movement of their children and ensure that, they study at all times since without the children, there will be no future.
The Chief of Osiem, Osabarima Agyei Ameraku II also said the move will help encourage pupils to learn hard, charging parents to prioritize their wards education over buying of funeral clothes and other vanity things.
He again asked them to invest into their wards education since they’re the future leaders of the country.
